Frequently Asked Questions

The Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR) is an innovative, digital credential designed to capture a student's full range of learning experiences, from academic courses to leadership roles, hands-on projects, and other activities. The CLR highlights the competencies, achievements, and skills that a student has acquired through these experiences at the University of Georgia and can be shared with others – including potential employers – to show off their accomplishments.

Visit the CLR website at clr.uga.edu and click on the red "CLR Portal" button to access your personalized CLR. Log in using your UGA MyID and password.

A student's academic experience will appear on their CLR if it has been approved for one or more of the following Institutional Competencies (ICs):

  • Critical Thinking
  • Analytical Thinking
  • Communication
  • Social Awareness and Responsibility
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Leadership and Collaboration

Institutional Competencies help students articulate the skills they learn through their UGA courses and activities. Courses and activities approved for Institutional Competencies will be included in the Comprehensive Learner Record, which is designed to help students deepen their understanding of their educational experiences and motivate them to acquire these life-long skills while working toward their degree. More information about UGA's Institutional Competencies can be found here, https://reg.uga.edu/faculty-and-staff/competencies/.

In the CLR Portal, you may view the Institutional Competencies you've acquired during your time at UGA, along with related, completed or in-progress experiences.

The CLR is a dynamic tool that will help students tell their stories better than any resume and highlight their readiness for the world after graduation. Students can share their CLR with others – including potential employers and graduate programs – to highlight the skills and knowledge they have gained at UGA that may not be emphasized on a standard academic transcript.

The information on your CLR is University-backed and verified for accuracy, so employers and graduate programs can trust that the courses and activities listed are accurate and proven for attaining the linked Institutional Competencies.
